Actress Nayanatara slammed actor Dhanush through a scathing open letter in response to the latter’s legal notice over copyright issue for unauthorised usage of certain clips from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, a 2015 film directed by her husband Vignesh Shivan.
Addressing Dhanush directly, Nayanthara shared a three-page-long pressnote on her social media handle, defending the use of specific visuals in her upcoming Netflix documentary with the title ‘Nayanatara: Beyond Fairy Tale’ from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan which was produced by Dhanush.
Nayan alleged that Dhanush refused to give no objection certificate for using clips and songs from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan despite repeated requests from the team of her documentary and expressed deep disappointment over the legal notice for usage of a short clip. She vented her ire on Dhanush and called his treatment as nothing but personal vengeance.
Reportedly, Dhanush has slapped a legal notice for 10 Crores for a few seconds video clip featuring between-the-sets visuals from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in the trailer of her documentary. In reply, Nayanatara now came down heavily and attacked Dhanush in a harsh and bitter language targeting him personally. She alleged that Dhanush deliberately delayed giving permission to the team and now came with a copyright notice which she calls unfair. She concluded by saying, “Through this letter, I only wish and pray that you come to peace with your inner self over the success of some people whom you knew from the past. The world is a big place, it’s meant for everyone.
Nayanatara posted this letter on her Instagram page and this post is currently going viral. It is a rare instance that two top artists involved such a unsavoury battle.
