The Telangana assembly sessions took an unexpected turn today as the Sandhya theatre incident involving Allu Arjun became the focal point of discussion. Chief minister Revanth Reddy and cinematography minister, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy spoke at length on this matter.
CM Revanth Reddy stated that the film industry was naturally nurtured to make films and make money by marketing them. But this line was crossed when a film hero’s publicity stunt resulted in the death of a commoner(Revathi).
“The film industry was allocated special privileges in terms of ticket, prices and benefit shows all these years and it was fine. But now the film industry has started to kill common people and this is where the line is drawn. I am saying this today as long as I am the chief minister of the state, there will be no more special privileges to the film industry.” Revanth Reddy stated.
Other hand cinematography Minister Venkat Reddy also confirmed that there will be no more special shows(night shows before release) permitted in the state henceforth. He went down to confirm that the ticket rate hikes will also not be permitted.
Cinematography minister, then announced that he will be donating ₹25 lakh to the family members of Revathi, who had died in the Sandhya theatre incident. He then went on to visit the hospital where Revati’s son, Shri Tej is being treated. He extended all possible support from the Telangana government to the family.
