Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that Nandamuri Balakrishna was “Allari Balayya” until yesterday, but now he is “Padma Bhushan Balayya.” Speaking at the family felicitation for Balakrishna, Naidu called Balayya a pride of the nation and congratulated him on winning the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award.
Chandrababu Naidu said that his wife, Bhuvaneshwari wanted to hold this event personally for her brother. Revealing the close bond between Balayya and his wife Bhuvaneshwari, Chandrababu said, “There is Balayya on one side. On the other side, I have the equally powerful Bhu (Bhuvaneshwari). I’m suffering between them. It is very dangerous to be in between them. Believe it or not, I don’t know anything about this event. She told me that she would not say anything about this event as she wanted to do it personally for her brother. It was her desire.”
He said that the entire Nara and Nandamuri families are proud of Balayya’s achievement, which is the first one in their family. “He (Balakrishna) became an actor in 1974. I became an MLA for the first time in 1978. He is four years senior to me. NTR was known for his discipline and perseverance. Balayya might look naughty from the outside, but he is very dedicated. He is a dashing actor on one side, and on the other side, he is a great humanitarian who started a cancer hospital to provide better healthcare for people in need. Under his leadership, the hospital became one of the best cancer hospitals in the country. He is a three-time MLA who gives his best service to his constituency’s people. I feel blessed to have such a great brother-in-law,” said Chandrababu.
Recently, Balakrishna was conferred with the Padma Bhushan award by the Government of India. He will be presented with the award very soon.
