Florida residents can legally carry a firearm without a permit starting July 1, but there is a long list of rules and exceptions with the new law.
The Florida Senate voted for H1B 543 in March and DeSantis quickly signed it. Florida is the 26th state that does not require a concealed weapons license.
Here is the list of rules if anyone wants to carry a ‘concealed’ weapon.
Training: Gun training isn’t required under permitless carry bill, but experts sure do recommend it.
Concealed: The weapon can be carried publicly but is hidden from view. Concealed carry of firearms is allowed in 50 states but Florida did not allow carrying it without special training and a license before the bill.
Not everywhere in Florida: The concealed carry of weapons is not allowed in all places of Florida and here are the restricted places.
The legal age for carrying the weapon is 21 years old or older and one must have a valid form if identification and be a legal resident of the US.
