An Indian student has been arrested for allegedly murdering his grandparents and uncle at their home in New Jersey. 23-year-old student Om Brahmbhatt was taken into custody and charged with three counts of first-degree murder.
Om Brahmbhatt of South Plainfield resided with the victims and was found at the residence when police arrived at the scene. The victims are DIlipkumar Brahmbhatt, 72, Bindu Brahmbhatt, 72, and their son Yashkumar Brahmbhatt, 38.
Om moved to New Jersey a year ago to study and has been living with the victims. When cops arrived at the spot and asked who did it, Om said, ‘It might be me’. Om purchased a handgun online and allegedly committed this crime.
Copes found in the investigation that he shot Dilipkumar and Bindu while they were sleeping and then he moved to the other bedroom and shot Yashkumar several times in the head. It is still not known why Om committed the crime.
