US Using AI to Target International Students’ Visas

The visa revocation instances are increasing in the USA, especially among the International students. The US government is acting strictly against the students and the minor issues like speeding tickets will also lead to the visa revocation. Many colleges in the country have reported about this increase in the visa cancellations.

The students who are connected to the pro-Palestinian protests on campus are being targeted first but some of those who are not connected with it are also coming under the radar. The officials have cited past traffic infractions as reasons for revoking their visa.

In many cases, the government in the USA provide no explanation, leaving the universities in a state of confusion. They only come to know the same from federal immigration databases. Surprisingly, Indian students are also on the list of affected people. The government also revoked the visas of those who raised support for Gaza-related causes online too.

We have already informed that the government is using AI to flag individuals. The artificial intelligence-driven program is reportedly called ‘Catch and Revoke.’
