#TelanganaRains: Nirmal district Water Logged

The rains in Telangana state have brought life to a standstill. Nirmal district is almost waterlogged and pictures and videos of the water entering residential areas have surfaced on the social media.

Learning about the rains and situation, Telangana CM KCR called on minister Indrakaran Reddy and NDRF teams have been deployed for the rescue operations.

According to the officials, Nirmal district reported 661 mm of rainfall in the last 48 hours while the normal rainfall that gets reported every year is 414 mm.

As a result of the heavy rains, all the irrigation projects in Nirmal are filled with water. 13 gates of the Kadem project have been lifted and water is being released towards the southern region.

In Siricilla district, the newly inaugurated Collector office got partly submerged in the rains. This is shocking as it was a new construction and engineers did not lay a proper plan in case of heavy rains.
