After Motkupalli, Peddireddy Exits BJP

Published by

Ever since the inclusion of former minister Etala Rajender in BJP, many leaders are upset. Motkupalli, Peddireddy have openly expressed that they are disappointed and were not even informed before in-taking Etala into T-BJP.

During the weekend Motkupalli had quit the BJP and reports say that he might join TRS party. Now another prominent leader has also resigned to BJP and he is former minister Peddireddy.

Even before Etala, Peddireddy had represented Huzurabad (erstwhile Kamalapur constituency). When Etala resigned to his MLA post and Peddireddy had anticipated the Huzurabad by-election ticket. But Telangana BJP laid red carpet for Etala and even announced that he is the candidate for by-poll. Not stopping here, T-BJP chief Bandi Sanjay has joined Etala who is doing a Paadayatra in the constituency.

Dejected by these happenings Peddireddy has been staying away from the party activities. But no one from T-BJP tried to pacify or talk to him to sort out the differences. Having felt humiliated, Peddireddy finally resigned from the T-BJP.

This is a major blow to T-BJP ahead of the Huzurabad by-poll and could be another crucial development in Telangana politics.

Where will Peddireddy head next? Considering the unfamiliarity with KCR, he might not pick TRS and Congress looks a suitable option. Also T-Congress needs a candidate after Padi Kaushik Reddy joined the TRS and Peddireddy could be a worthy candidate. If Peddireddy joins Congress and gets a ticket, the Huzurabad by-election is going to be a very tight contest between the three parties.
