This Is Unacceptable: Jagan Upset With Officers

Published by

AP CM YS Jagan has expressed his deep disappointment on government officers in the Spandana program held on Tuesday. A review meeting on the implementation of government welfare schemes was held and Collectors, Joint-Collectors and other officials graced the event.

However Jagan was upset that the officers are not doing adequate inspections whether the schemes are getting implemented on grass-root level. In the report which he extracted from the officials, it was found out that out of the 1098 inspections, just 733 were held which is 66.75 percent and Jagan opined that this unacceptable.

Unhappy with this Jagan issued a warning to officers and directed the CMO to issue a memo to the officers who did not conduct inspection. Jagan also said by the next Spandana meeting, the inspection rate should go up else the consequences could be severe.

Suggesting the officers to go to the people and take their feedback. “We are humans first and I urge all the officers to show humanity during inspection. They are our people and ask them whether they are getting pensions, ration and others on time,” said Jagan.

Post warning, Jagan tried to calm down the officials by saying summoning memos pains me as well but negligence can never be acceptable.

This reminds us of former CM Chandrababu Naidu. Reckoned as a strict administrator, when Chandrababu was the CM, bureaucrats and other officers used to have tough times. Chandrababu used to make the officials run for their work and ensure that people’s concerns were addressed.

This was the prime reason Chandrababu developed a negative image among bureaucrats and government employees. Will the same repeat?
