Telangana’s IT Minister KT Rama Rao has been served notices by the National Green Tribunal in connection with his farm house in the catchment area of the Osman Sagar reservoir.
This is following Congress MP Revanth Reddy’s complaint to National Green Tribunal who accused KTR of buying 25 acre site and constructing building flouting rules of Government Order 111 that prohibits permanent structures in the catchment areas.
The NGT has also serves notices to Telangana state government, Pollution Control Board (PCB) and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) in connection with KTR’s farmhouse in catchment area.
Revanth Reddy and Congress party has alleged that KTR has constructed three-storey farmhouse violating the green norms and GO 111.
In a first of its kind in the country, Lok Sabha MP Revanth Reddy was earlier arrested in March for flying a drone over KTR’s farmhouse ‘unlawfully’. Revanth Reddy was later released on bail on March 18.
