Apollo Hospital Charges High Parking Fees, Visitors Rue

Published by

Despite the Telangana High Court giving the instructions to the GHMC commissioner and Enforcement, Vigilance and Disaster Management (EVDM) wing to act as per the law against the Apollo Hospitals for leasing out parking space and collecting parking fee from patients, the hospital management is still levying heavy parking fee from the patients.

The hospital management is charging the parking fee on an hourly basis and is collecting 100 rupees for 12 hours which is extremely high. The hospital should provide free parking space for the patients as per the rules but it looks like they are not following the same.

Earlier, the government of Telangana issued GO 63 to rationalize and regulate the parking fee collected at the commercial establishments/multiplexes/malls and multiplexes.

According to the government order, no parking fee should be collected from any person for the first 30 minutes of parking their vehicle. If the time exceeds 30 minutes, the person who had parked the vehicle produces a bill of any amount in proof of having done shopping in the respective establishment, so that the parking will be free. In other cases, the parking fee should be collected.

Many people are taking to social media to express their displeasure over Apollo Hospital charging the parking fee.
