Former GHMC Mayor Teegala Krishna Reddy’s political career is in doldrums. Having lost in the 2018 Assembly elections, Teegala’s prominence in the TRS party has drastically come down. Adding fuel to the fire, KCR invited Teegala’s rival Sabhita Indra Reddy and even made her cabinet minister.
The TRS leadership hoped that Teegala and Sabhita would work collectively in Maheshwaram constituency but that did not happen. When Sabhita was made the minister Teegala was deeply disappointed and reports came out that he might join the BJP. Sensing this, KCR called up Teegala and assured him that the party will give him importance in the coming days.
Yet the TRS cadre of Maheshwaram are still divided but it’s Teegala’s side which is more unhappy. Not just his supporters, even Teegala is doubtful of receiving a party ticket in the next Assembly elections. Amidst this, Revanth Reddy meeting Teegala has garnered a huge political significance.
Apparently Teegala’s son-in-law passed away and so to express his solidarity Revanth Reddy paid a visit. Being old friends when in TDP, Teegala and Revanth displayed the affection they shared but this raked up speculations. Though politics was not discussed in this meeting Revanth indirectly put a word in Teegala’s mind.
With Revanth being the T-PCC chief, he will have ample powers to decide the party candidates in the next Assembly elections. Now that Sabhita is no longer with Congress and may not return, Revanth wants Teegala to fill this slot.
If Revanth succeeds in this, for sure Maheshwaram constituency will witness a neck-to-neck battle in the next elections.
