Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy hoisted the tricolour at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Vijayawada this morning. In his Independence Day speech, Jagan launched a sharp attack on the former AP CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s government.
Jagan said the TDP government had evaded Rs 960 crore in grain arrears, Rs 9,000 crore in free electricity and Rs 324 crore in seed arrears, which have been later cleared by the YSRCP government. “We are providing quality electricity to farmers during the day and we have spent Rs 33,000 crore on the procurement and purchase of grain,” the CM said, further adding that his government had spent Rs 83,000 crore on agriculture.
Jagan went on to say that he had realised the aspirations of people from different communities during his Padayatra. He vouched for equal rights for everyone. He said that women are aspiring to develop economically, socially and academically.
Jagan urged the people of the state to notice the change in villages, towns and cities since his tenure. He claimed to have brought a new revolution by introducing over 500 people-friendly services at village panchayats.
Jagan said that his government has completely changed the fate of public schools via Nadu-Nedu scheme and that government schools are now competing with corporate schools across the state. The YSRCP President went on to say that his government is providing nutritious food to children under Jagananna Goru Mudda scheme.
Finally, Jagan informed the people that his government has so far disbursed Rs 13,000 crores within 2 years under Amma Vodi scheme. “We have also brought all those who earn less than 5 lakhs under Arogya Sri scheme,” he concluded.
