For the first time in his life and politics, former AP minister and TDP National Secretary Nara Lokesh has been arrested. Lokesh and a few other TDP leaders and cadres were arrested by the Guntur Police after consoling the family members of the Guntur engineering student Ramya who was brutally murdered.
Amidst a lot of chaos and police restrictions, Lokesh met Ramya’s family members and assured them TDP’s support and vowed to fight until they get justice.
Lokesh’s visit led to a law and order situation in the Paramayyagunta area in Guntur. Several YSRCP leaders protested against Lokesh’s visit, alleging that the TDP leader is exploiting a sensitive issue for political mileage. The protests led to a huge commotion until the police brought the situation under control.
On the other hand, Lokesh launched a sharp attack on the YS Jagan government. The Nara scion alleged that women do not feel safe under Jagan’s rule and that atrocities on women in Jagan’s governance are on the rise dangerously.
Later, cops arrested Lokesh, TDP leaders Dhulipalla, Alapati Raja, Nakka Anandababu and several others and sent them to Nallapadu police station.
