TDP MLAs Vallabhaneni Vamsi, Karanam Balaram, and Maddali Giri have already distanced themselves from the party and are moving closely with YS Jagan’s YCP. Latest developments suggest that there might be a new addition to the list.
One of the senior most leaders in TDP, Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary is set to quit the party in the next couple of days.
It is being reported that Butchaiah is deeply upset with TDP high command as he feels that the party hierarchy is intentionally neglecting him.
“Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh don’t even have the time to listen to my requests. The party high command has sidelined me completely,” Butchaiah apparently said to his close associates.
After coming to know about Butchaiah’s disgruntlement, TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu spoke with him on the phone for around 30 minutes. The TDP chief tried to persuade the senior leader to stay with the party.
But Butchaiah had made up his mind already and said to Chandrababu that he can’t continue with the party.
Butchaiah Chowdary is one of the 23 TDP MLAs who withstood a super strong YCP wave in 2019 assembly elections and won from Rajahmundry Rural assembly constituency. His departure will come as a big shock to TDP. He is expected to leave the party today or tomorrow.
