Although the producers of big-ticket films have announced the release dates, they are now rethinking about their theatrical releases and postponing the films. The root cause of this problem is AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy and his government’s stand on the ticket prices in the truncated state.
Although producers and exhibitors have been appealing to AP state government to revise the age-old ticket prices in the state, AP government is counting days on taking a decision. AP CM Jagan is going to meet Chiranjeevi in this regard and the meeting is being postponed which in turn is affecting the producers of movies that are slated for releases.
Love Story makers, who earlier announced Sep 10th as release date, are going to defer their release to October 1st or so. This is affecting the whole lineup of upcoming films. Acharya is likely to be postponed to Christmas. Akhanda makers are planning for Dussehra but the ticket prices issue and the pending VFX works are major concerns. Only small-budget producers are daring to release their films in theatres.
