YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP and General Secretary Vijaya Sai Reddy’s allegations of corruption on veteran TDP leader and former union minister P Ashok Gajapati Raju have become a hot topic of discussion. Vijaya Sai yesterday alleged that Ashok was involved in Simhachalam temple land scam and vowed to bring Ashok’s corruption to light.
Addressing the media after offering special prayers at the Simhachalam Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, Vijaya Sai alleged that 846 acres belonging to the Simhachalam Devasthanam had gone missing from the records during the TDP government. The YSRCP leader also alleged that Ashok Gajapathi Raju was running the MANSAS Trust in a selfish manner.
However, it appears that, in a move to irk Ashok Gajapathi Raju and thus TDP, Vijaya Sai is only denting YSRCP’s image and is bringing bad reputation for the party in the Uttarandhra region with his baseless allegations. In fact, it is Ashok’s ancestors hailing from the Pusapati family who donated thousands of acres of lands to the government for the welfare of the poor people in Vizianagaram.
Opposition leaders and even YSRCP sympathisers are laughing off Vijaya Sai’s ridiculous allegations, saying, how can a family that first donated the lands can now resort to encroachment of the same lands? Many are of the opinion that Vijaya Sai made hollow allegations in connection with Ashok’s niece Sanchaita’s removal as MANSAS Chairperson.
