Bureaucrats play a huge role in a government but former union minister and BJP leader Uma Bharti made controversial comments against Bureaucrats and they have taken the internet by storm.
“Aapko Nahi Pata Bureaucracy Kuchh Nahi Hoti, Chappal Uthanewali Hoti Hai,” commented Uma Bharti in Hindi and the translated version is, “Bureaucracy is there to pick up our chappals (slippers). They pick up our slippers.” She made these objectionable remarks at her home during an informal interaction with a delegation of representatives from other backward classes (OBCs).
This video of Uma Bharti invited a huge uproar while oppositions lashed out at the BJP leader. As the video went viral she reacted to it and kind of defended her comments.
“I am thankful to the media that they showed my complete video because I was speaking only in defence of bureaucracy. According to my experience, an honest bureaucracy supports a true leader having good intentions,” added Uma Bharti in a series of tweets.
But in the last tweet, Uma Bharti regretted the language she used. “I regret that I used unrestrained language. I learned this lesson that modest language should be used even in informal meetings,” wrote Uma Bharti.
