Two pictures in a tweet by Telangana IT minister K.T. Rama Rao today caught the attention of netizens as these images appeared earlier in another tweet by YCP MP and party social media manager V. Vijayasai Reddy, a couple of days ago.
In the tweet, KTR specifically mentioned about the districts where the pictures were taken and also pointed out the similarity between the images he posted. He commended the commitment level of the healthcare workers in Telangana involved in the ‘vaccine at doorstep’ drive.
The pictures showed healthcare workers, clad in white sarees, administering vaccine to farmers working in the fields in Khammam district and Rajanna Sircilla district.
Soon, netizens trolled Vijayasai Reddy for tweeting pictures from Telangana
but claiming them to be from Andhra Pradesh. A Jana Sena activist even posted a tweet on the ‘lies and lies and lies….’ being told by Vijayasai Reddy.
In his tweet, the Janasena activist, posted, “This vaccination is cross state… We just need to know who are those health workers who corssed the state….”
Meanwhile, Vijayasai, in his tweet, was all praises for the able leadership of their party president and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said that Jagan was constantly reviewing the Covid-19 pandemic situation and vaccination drive in Andhra Pradesh to instil confidence and inspire the employees. He also made a mention of the healthcare workers and said that they were carrying forward the vaccination drive as a revolution in the state.
Surprisingly, the same pictures were published in Sakshi, Telugu news daily, owned by Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Similar instances of copy pasting pictures from other states was done by Vijayasai Reddy earlier in connection with some welfare schemes too.
KTR Responds
This mix up invited huge trolls and netizens did not spare both KTR and Vijayasai Reddy. Reacting to these trolls, KTR posted newspaper clippings of the related photos and they look justifiable that the photos belong to Telangana.
“These are the two news items from Eenadu & Sakshi that I had used for my tweet above. It is a fact that Telangana Healthcare workers have been doing a terrific job and let’s appreciate them,” tweeted KTR.
This means it’s Vijayasai Reddy who posted fake pictures. But yes, it’s true that AP healthcare workers too are reaching door-to-door to administer vaccine for the people who are yet to receive their jab.
