Andra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy cancelled his Delhi visit scheduled today. His Delhi tour was finalised on Thursday night itself and the itinerary was also released to the media.
However, he suddenly fell sick on Friday. He began working out in the gym as part of his daily routine during which he suffered a sprain in the leg and collapsed. Soon the doctors attended to him and after conducting the medical tests, confirmed that he had a sprain and did the needful.
The CM, considering the sprain as an ordinary injury, did not take it seriously and continued with his daily work the next day. This led to more pressure and stress on the sprain and by Friday evening, his leg was swollen. Doctors suggested that he take bed rest for speedy recovery.
As a result, his Delhi tour was cancelled and information about it was also released to the media by the government chief secretary on Friday night.
Jagan was supposed to attend a meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah with chief ministers of Naxal-affected regions on September 26. Now, Jagan would not attend the meeting.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister of neighbouring Telangana K. Chandrasekhar Rao had already reached Delhi and his appointments with ministers of several departments have been confirmed.
