After ministers Vellampalli and Anil Kumar Yadav fumed at Jana Sena chief and actor Pawan Kalyan for criticising the YCP government and their party president, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, I&PPR minister Perni Nani also took jibe at PK.
Reacting to his anti-YCP comments at the pre-release event of Republic movie, I&PR minister Perni Nani said that he should know that of the 1,100 theatres in AP, 800 are functioning as of now and that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy does not have any vengeance with Pawan Kalyan nor did he get the cinema halls closed with animosity towards Pawan Kalyan.
On Pawan Kalyan referring to the minister as ‘sannasi’, Nani said that he also belonged to the Kapu community (the same caste to which the actor belongs) and would like to take the liberty in calling Pawan as ‘Orey’ and ‘Sannasi nnara Sannasi.”
Call KCR ‘luchha’
Speaking about actor Sai Dharam Tej’s accident, he faulted Pawan for castigating the media even when they reported facts. “Is it not true that the FIR filed in connection with Tej’s accident said that the mishap occurred due to overspeed and negligence? That is what the media reported and why should Pawan get annoyed with the reports,” Nani wondered.
“If you want to blame someone, blame Telangana cops or Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for not preventing the police from speaking out facts. It is not the media which you should criticise, use abusive language against KCR. Don’t you have the “dammu” and “dhairyam” to open your mouth against KCR and call him “sannasi”, “luccha” and “Vedhava”? he asked.
Countering the actor’s comments on YSR Republic, the minister said that PK should also remember that this in Indian Republic and that is why he is enjoying the right to speak whatever he wishes without any fear.
“Era Suntha, I pretty well know that you are my fan. Else, why would you drop in Bandar even while you have a busy schedule in Vijayawada, while shooting for ‘Vakeel Saab’. Your heart is filled with vengeance over me and you keep thinking how you should reciprocate to my criticism. So, you are my fan,” he reasoned.
The minister also mentioned of the ‘kodi kathi’ case of which PK spoke at the pre-release event. “That case is being probed by the NIA and if you have the ‘khaleja’, go to Union minister Amit Shah and question him, Nani suggested.
Producers get more profits in AP
Countering his remarks on Jagan selling tickets online while movie producers were investing money in the films, Nani said that PK sannasi should ask the same question to Modi and Shah, with whom he has an alliance. “He should ask them why they are collecting GST on movie tickets.”
Time and again, Nani revealed the profits earned by producers of Vakeel Saab, Agnyatavasi in Telugu states and made it clear that the major portion of the profit was exclusively from Andhra Pradesh.
Nani also said that the actors and producers themselves have been asking the government to sell movie tickets online since 2003 and hence, the government is trying to understand the situation, which is in contrast to PK’s allegations that the government is trying to take over the film industry.
He suggested that ‘PK gaa’ should stop levelling baseless allegations against Jagan Mohan Reddy and learn to respect the Chief Minister.
