Mood Of AP: Who Will Win If Elections Are Held Now?

Published by

The political climate in Andhra Pradesh is as heated up as it ever was. The chief minister YS Jagan has already advised his party troops to start preparing for the elections already, and thus, dropping a hint about early elections. JanaSena chief Pawan Kalyan too has upped the ante and he has taken a firm stand against the YCP government. TDP is banking on its loyal vote bank and hoping the anti incumbency will help the party in the coming elections.

The 2024 general elections in Andhra Pradesh has become a burning topic already. Now, here’s an interesting survey report that gives an implication of the mood of Andhra Pradesh voters.

As per the survey commissioned by Atma Sakshi group, which collected the feedback from the voters in three phases between April and September this year, if the elections are held today, YCP will retain power.

According to the survey, the Jagan-led party, which won close to 50% vote share in 2019 will witness a marginal drop and secure 46.5% vote share, which is just about enough to retain power in the state. Telugu Desam Party will secure 43.5% vote share. While the difference in vote share between YCP and TDP was around 10% in 2019, it might drop to as little as 3-5% if the elections are held now.

JanaSena will have to settle for 4.25% vote share, which is lesser than the 7% it garnered in 2019. The party won’t have too much of a say in Andhra Pradesh if the elections are held now.

Around 4.75% of the voters are undecided about whom to pick as the elections are over 2 years from now. The swing of this 4.75% voters might well be decide the winning party in 2024 elections.
