Jagan Govt Excludes Amaravati Chapter From Text Books!

Published by

AP CM Jagan led YSRCP government has ordered for removal of the chapter on Amaravati from the Telugu text book of the Class 10 students. The chapter on Amaravati was made part of the syllabus in 2014 in TDP’s regime.

The chapter on Amaravati had the ancient history of the city, cultural significance and how it was made the capital of Andhra Pradesh post bifurcation of erstwhile state. The Telugu text book of Class 10 has about 12 chapters and the state government has excluded only the chapter of Amaravati while the rest of them were retained.

This step from the Jagan government is a move to convey that the state government is no longer considering Amaravati as the capital of AP. The oppositions have criticised this move of Jagan government. TDP MLA Angani Satya Prasad alleged that YCP government is pushing Amaravati’s significance into history which is not a good move.

In December 2019, CM Jagan commented in the Assembly that the state might have three capitals and later it initiated the steps to divide the capital on administration, judiciary and legislative purpose.

Currently works for administration are happening at a war footing in Vizag and CM Jagan’s polish bungalow with an estimated budget of Rs 400 crore is also getting ready.
