Ever since Jana Sena Party’s decent show in the MPTC and ZPTC elections, their party leaders have a strong belief that Jana Sena has the ability to contest solo. Also in recent times, the gap between BJP and Jana Sena widened for multiple reasons.
The latest political developments in state politics and also within BJP and Jana Sena suggest that both the parties are moving far from each other with each day passing. Very soon the municipal elections are going to be held and for the same, Jana Sena is reportedly considering contesting alone and giving a rude shock to the BJP.
Apparently the AP State Election Commission is likely to announce the schedule for by-election across 12 Municipalities, Wards and Divisions with the passing away of a few counsellors and corporators.
On Sunday Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan met party senior leaders, district level leaders and others. A discussion on the by-election too arrived in this meeting and Jana Sena has decided to contest the by-election for all the places which turned vacant.
However, senior Jana Sena leaders informed Pawan about the negative impact faced by the party because of the BJP. Notably after the Parishad elections, Pawan commented that BJP leaders did not work hand-in-hand with Jana Sena and so the results were disappointing. Finally the Jana Sena leaders made it clear that the party will not benefit with BJP’s alliance.
Accordingly Pawan Kalyan has asked the party leaders to finalise the candidates for all the seats where by-poll is invited. This development hints that Jana Sena will not go in coalition with BJP in the municipal elections.
Jana Sena seems to be clear in its approach for the elections while the BJP is still hoping that all is well. But will the municipal by-elections end the bond of Jana Sena and BJP? What is the AP BJP thinking at the moment and chief Somu Veerraju is yet to make a comment on Municipal by-polls and his party’s stand on contesting.
