The comments made by Telangana CM KCR at TRS plenary meeting are taking many twists and turns. Firstly the YCP minister Perni Nani welcomed KCR’s comments but suggested that instead of two wings of TRS, both the Telugu states should reunite and TRS can operate as one party in united AP.
Now Congress firebrand leader Jagga Reddy has reacted to KCR and Perni Nani’s comments and he raked up ‘Samaikya Andhra’ sentiment. “During the peak of Telangana agitation, I voiced my opinion for a united Andhra. People called me a traitor but still I managed to win as an MLA. Now both Andhra and Telangana leaders are singing a united Andhra tune and I will fully support the cause,” said Jagga Reddy.
But the Sangareddy MLA defended his comments that he wants reunion of Telugu states in his personal capacity while Telangana PCC and its chief Revanth Reddy have nothing to do with. “This is purely my opinion. It’s neither people’s demand but it’s vaguely the opinion of leaders. I’m not against any region simultaneously I’m okay with separate Telangana or united AP,” added Jagga Reddy.
“Telangana was formed on the basis of water sharing, resources and employment. But the majority of the people are unhappy with the TRS government. Just three years after separate statehood, a debate on reunion arrived but it settled with the TRS campaign against it,” said Jagga Reddy.
Yet Jagga Reddy believes that KCR is not innocent to make such comments. “I know KCR and his political tactics. I did not fall into his trap. But I feel KCR and Jagan are the same and BJP might be behind them,” stated the Congress leader.
Lastly on the reunion of Telugu states, Jagga Reddy opined that there might not be any agitations in near future but through consensus the Telugu states may reunite.
Jagga Reddy’s comments have raked up a huge debate in Telangana political circles. Is this the beginning of something unexpected?
