After having broke down and cried over his defeat in the Huzurabad bypolls TRS candidate Gellu Srinivas Yadav claimed that it was a moral victory for their party because two national parties joined hands to trounce a student leader like him. Technically, the BJP could have won but morally, the TRS is the winner, he said.
At the same time, he said that he would hold the responsibility for the party’s defeat. Victory and defeat are the two sides of the same coin and in electoral battles, we cannot predict the voters’ verdict, he pointed out.
He said that Congress leaders had made NSUI leader Balmuri Venkat, the party candidate for the Huzurabad bypoll, a scapegoat to ensure the victory of Etala. All the Congress leaders made public statements that BJP candidate Etala would win in the bypolls and this indicates that they had worked towards that goal, Gellu said.
Yadav said he would be available round-the-clock to serve the people and also work for the development of the party. He said he would protect the interests of the TRS men in Huzurabad constituency and also ensure completing all the pending civil works in the villages and mandals.
He thanked Chief Minister KCR and all the party leaders in Huzurabad for working in coordination with him. He said he would strive for the party’s victory in the next elections.
