Anantapur politics in AP needs no introduction. Families of JC and Paritala dominated the district when either of the sides were in power. But with Andhra Pradesh bifurcation, the scenario changed. JC Diwakar Reddy along with his brother Prabhakar Reddy joined TDP.
Having knowledge of the rivalry between JC family and Paritala’s, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu negotiated the peace talks. Despite Naidu’s mediation, JC and Paritala families maintained distance but never crossed the line of the party.
But an unexpected incident surprised the TDP Thammulu (Cadre). On Tuesday, TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh staged a protest at Anantapur and to welcome him, TDP leaders of the region reached borders.
Tadipatri Municipal Chairman JC Prabhakar Reddy reached the Anantapur borders first, followed by Paritala Sriram. As soon as Sriram got down from the car, he greeted many leaders who were already waiting there. Then he came across JC Prabhakar Reddy and both greeted each other with a hug.
This incident kind of shocked the TDP leaders who were present there but they were happy that two strong forces have come together for the party. Does this mean the JC family and Paritala family settled their old scores?
If the TDP cadre believes so, the party can regain its glory in Anantapur.
