In a major setback to TDP and its chief Chandrababu Naidu, the YSR Congress party bagged the Kuppam Municipal Corporation. After the first round of counting the YCP registered victory in 13 wards while TDP secured just two wards.
Kuppam Municipal comprises 25 wards and with the trend being in the ruling party’s favour, it is a cake walk for YSRCP to take over the municipal corporation. The counting for Kuppam municipal corporation was supervised by a special officer upon the directions of AP High Court.
Besides Kuppam, YCP also bagged Nellore Corporation. Here the ruling party swept all the 27 wards and at Penukonda, Rajampeta, Buchireddypalem, Dachepalli, Aakiveedu, Betthamcharla and Kamalapuram, YCP dominated and emerged victorious.
YCP reported victories at 3,9,16 and 30th wards of Kakinada Municipal Corporation and the counting is still going on. The trend recommends YCP is likely to win the Kakinada corporation too.
