After two years of suspense the CBI had unearthed the facts in the mysterious murder of YS Vivekananda Reddy. The CBI charged Erra Gangireddy, former follower and dairy trader Gajjala Umashankar Reddy, Sunil Yadav and ex-driver Dastagiri as the prime accused in the case.
But another twist in the tale arrived with the CBI arresting Devireddy Shivshankar Reddy. He was detained by the cops in Hyderabad and was brought to Kadapa with transit approvals. The CBI will be producing Shivshankar Reddy before the Kadapa Magistrate this afternoon.
However, Shivshankar Reddy’s son Chaitanya Reddy claims that his father is innocent and has whatsoever no involvement in YS Viveka’s murder. Chaitanya Reddy has written to CBI expressing concerns over his father’s health. “My father underwent a shoulder surgery on November 15th and he is yet to recover completely and needs medication. On health grounds, the CBI should let go of my father. He was arrested merely on allegations,” said Chaitanya Reddy.
But why did the CBI arrest Shivshankar Reddy after filing the charge-sheet and also narrowing on the culprits? The CBI categorically stated that this case is not over yet and more facts would come out as it is probed.
