With the rapid surge in Corona cases in Hyderabad, all the major hospitals and multi-speciality hospitals which are providing treatment for Covid-19 cases are witnessing heavy rush. While the average number of cases in the state is 1000 per day, all the patients and their relatives are flocking to Hyderabad for the better treatment. This is resulting in a great demand for the beds, special wards and more medical staff.
Also, the emergency in treating Covid-19 patients is casting a shadow on the treatment and personal care of patients of other illnesses and diseases. Both the outpatients and inpatients are having a lot of trouble due to the lack of availability of medical staff in almost all major hospitals with the existing staff busy in assisting the Covid ward.
As the Corona cases are growing fast in GHMC and other districts of Telangana, the demand for the treatment is growing. With this, several hospital managements have decided to fly down nurses and other medical staff from Kerala. Special flights have been arranged to fly down the nurses from Kerala. The hospital managements have also rented new places and facilitated accommodation in order to accommodate the newly coming nurses and medical staff from Kerala. Some hospitals have hired accommodation in some nearby hostels.
Two major hospitals have flown 50 nurses reportedly in a chartered flight. The hospitals are said to be offering even high pay wages. Telangana Nursing Officers Association too confirmed that the hospitals have high demand for nurses and they are offering upto Rs 50,000 per month salary. This is three-time higher than the usual salary of nurses, medical staff.
As Telangana is all set to impose yet another Lockdown in GHMC in 3 to 4 days, the hospitals are getting all equipped and hiring people and new staff from Kerala to prepare for upcoming emergencies.
