AP CM YS Jagan will be launching ‘Jagananna Sampurna Gruha Hakku’ scheme ( ‘OTS – One Time Settlement.’ ) on December 21st. With OTS, the state government would be collecting a minimum amount from the beneficiaries and people who enrol with OTS, would be given registered titles for their properties.
Initially the state government said that the OTS is completely voluntary and it is up to the beneficiaries to avail the scheme or not. But this OTS scheme received lukewarm response from the public. People are not coming forward to pay even a minimum amount to the state government.
This led the state government to rethink their strategy but it backfired. In order to encourage more people, through Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO), the state government is pressuring lower level officers like Panchayat Secretary, VROs, Digital Assistants, Village Volunteers and others.
Regarding the same, an audio clip of Marripadu MPDO Sushmitha Reddy’s call to Panchayat secretary (PS) went viral on social media. In this audio clip Marripadu MPDO was ordering PS to meet the target of 10 beneficiaries per mandal and if the people are not willing to come forward to avail OTS, threaten them that the welfare schemes and others would be stopped.
As this audio clip went viral, the Joint Collector issued a clarification. He added that show cause notices were served to MPDO Sushmitha Reddy and asked for written explanation. The Collector also informed that disciplinary action would be taken against the MPDO.
With the ‘Jagananna Sampurna Gruha Hakku’ scheme, the government is estimating that around 51 Lakh people would become beneficiaries. That looks like a big target now.
