The Andhra Pradesh government employee union has announced calling off their agitation after meeting AP Finance Minister Bugganna Rajendranath Reddy and AP Govt advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy. Apparently the Employees Union received a promise in written format that the AP government will look into all the demands of the employees.
Along with Pay Revision Commission (PRC), Fitness, the Employees Union placed 71 demands before the state government. With the union getting a proper assurance, it has decided to call off their agitation temporarily.
The state government informed the staff union that in phase wise manner, one after another demand of employees will be resolved. Accordingly another round of discussion between the staff union and government will take place on coming Wednesday. Also the Joint Staff Council is expected to take place some time this month and it would address the concerns of employees.
But internally we hear that the staff union bowed down to the pressure of state government. With Staff Union suspending their agitation, employees are a bit upset that they did not any assurance.
Seemingly AP is going through financial crunch and the other day YCP MP accepted the same in Lok Sabha. The implementation of PRC and fitment would put a burden of nearly Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000 crore to the State exchequer.
Either today or on Monday, AP finance minister Bugganna, chief advisor Sajjala are expected to meet AP CM YS Jagan and inform about the details of consensus with staff union.
