The closed-door conversation between TDP MLA Vangaveeti Radha and YCP leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi has become a hot topic in the political circles of Vijayawada.
Radha and Vamsi paid tributes to the former’s father Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga on his 33rd death anniversary in the capital city on Sunday. The duo garlanded the statue of Ranga at the same time and later, Vamsi visited Radha’s office, leading to speculations on the likelihood of change in political equations, ahead of the 2024 general elections.
Radha quit YCP and joined the TDP ahead of the 2019 general elections peeved over not being offered party ticket. At the same time, Vamsi also switched his loyalty to the YCP.
He did not join the ruling party formally but has been moving closely with the YCP leaders, after distancing himself from the TDP, though he won the polls on the TDP ticket from Gannavaram constituency.
The duo had been friends since long but today’s meeting assumes significance in view of the 2024 elections. Radha has a good base in Vijayawada and this is leading to speculations over switching the loyalties again and also on the constituency from which he would be contesting.
There is talk that the BJP, Jana Sena and TDP would forge an alliance in the run-up to the elections and in such a situation, it has to be seen how the political leaders would plan their strategies.
