The political atmosphere in Vijayawada has heated up with the closed-door meeting between TDP MLA Vangaveeti Radha and YCP leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi this morning. The political speculations gained more momentum with Civil Supplies minister Kodali Nani joining the duo later in the day.
Further, Radha made some sensational comments during the unveiling of his father’s statue at a small village in Gudlavalleru mandal. He alleged that there was a threat to his life as some people conducted a recce at his residence and were planning to eliminate him. He said that he was ready for the attack and urged the people to teach a befitting lesson to those trying to assault him. I will soon reveal the names of those trying to eliminate me, he said.
Minister Nani, who was also present on the dais, said that Radha was like his younger brother and hailed him to be a man of principles. He is still stuck with the TDP even when that party had not given him the MLC post only because of his principles and ideology, Nani said.
Radha’s statements have surprised political observers as they are not able to understand who could be targeting the TDP leader when his father was a most respected leader who was admired by the poor.
As Nani was also present on the dais when Radha made the sensational statement, it has to be seen if the YCP government would probe into the issue.
In the morning, Radha and Vamsi together paid floral tributes to the former’s father Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga on the occasion of his 33rd death anniversary by garlanding his statue on Bandar Road.
After holding discussion at Radha’s residence, Vamsi and Radha proceeded to Pedana constituency where they unveiled two more statues of Mohana Ranga and then headed to Gudivada constituency. The duo received a warm welcome from Gudivada MLA and minister Kodali Nani. The trio offered prayers at the famous Kondalamma temple.
The bonhomie between the TDP and YCP leaders too has turned to be most discussed topic in the political circles.
