In the absence of Telangana CM KCR in Hyderabad, Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan has taken charge of Covid-19 situation in the state. She has been receiving a lot of complaints on social media and in regards with it, Governor Tamilisai has called Telangana Chief Secretary and Health department Principal Secretary at Raj Bhavan.

However, despite getting the Governor’s call, CS did not make it to the meeting scheduled on Monday and there was a wide criticism on this. Finally CS and the health secretary met the Governor on Tuesday evening and informed the Covid-19 situation in the state. Governor Tamilisai reportedly brought the notice of public’s panic and outrage and urged the government to step up their efforts.

Earlier in the day, Governor Tamilisai held a review meeting with management of private hospitals and urged them to be transparent. “Let the patient and his family members know the charges of the hospital before admitting them. Everyone is eligible for corporate hospital treatment and in such crisis times, private hospitals should be more responsible and show some humanity in cases,” said the Governor.

On the Covid-19 tests, Tamilisai made key suggestions that the duration of the test and result should come down. There is a panic among people who have given their samples and so the results should be delivered quickly. This will enable the patients to be more cautious.

Government and private hospitals should reveal the number of beds available in their hospitals and high priority should be given to those patients who are in serious condition. Patients with minimal symptoms can be given home isolation and by doing so, more patients with high risk can be allotted the beds.

About the home isolation, Tamilisai advised that timely monitoring of doctors through video conference and tele medicine which make the patient believe that he/she can conquer the virus.

Lastly the Governor suggested to increase the Covid-19 tests and tracing should also be done at war foot. She appealed to the government to establish a plasma bank too.
