Stop Cursing Our CM, Botsa Warns Employees

Botsa Satyanarayana

Minister Botsa Satyanarayana said that the state employees should try to resolve their issues amicably rather than take to the roads. The employees launched an agitation against the government for making cuts in their pay.

Botsa said that it was not fair to criticize the YCP government or Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy in connection with the Pay Revision Commission (PRC).

He said that the final figures in the PRC were arrived after series of discussions between the leaders of employee unions and the higher authorities. The GOs were issued with their consent. The union leaders agreed to the fitment, HRA and other issues finalized by the authorities. “It is due to Corona crisis that Jagan is not able to give the hike in the salaries. Even the employees agreed that the CM is in favour of increasing their pay but had been bogged down by the economic crisis. If they have any issues, they should approach the authorities again and try to resolve the matter,” he said.

“Do they think that they are the only one wing whose issues should be addressed? A democracy has many other wings and all of those also have various problems which need to be looked into. The employees are talking as they want and not having any control on their tongues. They are cursing the CM and using abusive language against the government. This is not good.”

“The government is not against the employees. They can approach the officials and raise their issues. We are completely in their favour but tied down due to Covid-induced economic crisis. They are being irresponsibile. Fight for your rights in a proper manner. Don’t resort to personal abuse. Do the union leaders not have any responsibility to curtail such employees who are losing their temper,” he asked.

The Chief Secertary also gave a detailed explanation regarding the PRC figures. Is it good to speak against the government in front of the “yellow media” which supports the opposition parties? Try to resolve the problem but don’t be in a haste. Utilise your rights and go ahead in a rightful manner, he suggested.

“If you go against the rules and in an unjust way, for every action there will a reaction. Please observe restraint,” he said.

With regard to employees alleging that the government was putting forward false calculations, Botsa asked the employees to come with proper calculations and prove their point rather than sit somewhere and shout.

He expressed agony over the employees using harsh language against the government and the CM, who is the Constitutional head. Does he not remember the same when his colleagues use abusive language and insult the Opposition leader, who is also a Constitutional head, asked the TD leaders.
