In the wake of talk that Narasapur MP K. Raghu Ramakrishnam Raju would tender his resignation soon, actor and Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan’s brother Naga Babu, who had been defeated in the same constituency during the 2019 elections, made it clear that he would not contest for any political position. There are many other competent and worthy leaders in Jana Sena and someone from them would contest for the seat but not me, he said.
When reminded that he had got 2.5 lakh votes in the same constituency during the last elections, he said he had contested then following the directions of Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan, whom he considers as a real leader. Of the total votes, only 25,000 could be considered to be cast in his support while the remaining were all for Pawan Kalyan, he added.
By next elections, Naga Babu said that he would like to contribute in his own way to Kalyan Babu’s party Jana Sena. He said he was not interested in moving about with gunmen and blue light cars but would like to campaign for 2-3 months before next elections and try to help his brother serve the people. “I would not confine myself to a specific place but campaign for the party. I would work to strengthen Jana Sena as Kalyan Babu is a service-oriented and an honest person,” he said.
Naga Babu said he does not have the energy to look into the day-to-day affairs of Jana Sena but could support the party and its leaders. “I will try to make the people know of Jana Sena’s capabilities prior to the elections,” he said.
