This incident was reported in West Bengal and the rivalry between Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar reached its peak. Irked by his controversial remarks, Mamata Banerjee blocked Governor Jagdeep on Twitter.
Mamata has her reasons behind this act. Going into details, on Sunday Governor Jagdeep paid his respects to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary and speaking on the occasion, Jagdeep said that the state (West Bengal) is turning into a gas chamber of democracy.
Also on social media Governor Jagdeep directly targets CM Mamata and TMC ministers. Having lost it, Mamata decided to block him on Twitter. Acknowledging the same CM Mamata said, “We have been patiently suffering for the past year. The Governor is not listening and he is threatening everyone. I was getting irritated.”
Mamata added that she had written to the Prime Minister for removal of the Governor but there was lack of action. “The Governor has not cleared several files. He is keeping every file pending. How can he speak about policy decisions?” questioned Mamata.
Reacting to Mamata’s comments, Governor Jagdeep yet again took to Twitter, and wrote, “Mandated under Article 159 of the Constitution to ensure none in the state “blocks” Constitutional Norms and Rules of Law and those in authority “bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India.”
This is becoming ugly and it’s clear that Governor Jagdeep is acting more than his powers and Mamata is doing a brave fight against him.
