Hindupuram MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna has intensified his protest against the YCP government on the reorganisation of new districts. Balakrishna has been pitching for Hindupuram headquarters for Satya Sai district that will be carved out from the existing Anantapur district. The YCP government announced Puttaparthi as headquarters for Satya Sai district.
Earlier Balakrishna made a humble appeal to the YCP government to reconsider its decision but there was no response from the other side. With the state government being ignorant, Balakrishna decided to stage a silent protest.
On Friday Balayya reached his constituency and held a rally from Potti Sriramulu statue to Dr BR Ambedkar’s statue. At Ambedkar’s statue, NBK sat down in silent protest. Before that Balakrishna addressed the protest and added that he is ready to resign for Hindupuram.
“Hindupuram has all the criteria to become the headquarters of Satya Sai district. Just to divert the attention of employees protest, the YCP government initiated the reorganisation of districts. The YCP government has no other option rather than to fulfil the demand of Hindupuram people. From my side, I’m ready to quit the MLA position for the people who have voted for me,” said Balakrishna.
There was a massive response for Balakrishna’s protest as TDP cadre participated in large numbers while the general public volunteered for the stir. Balayya is the first TDP MLA to show his dissent on YCP government’s district reorganisation and he is really making it count.
