PM Narendra Modi is all set to land in Hyderabad this afternoon to take part in a couple of events. But, keeping aside the protocol, Telangana CM KCR had initially decided to not receive and see-off the PM during his visit. KCR went on to nominate the state Cinematography minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav to receive and see-off the PM on Saturday.
Needless to say, KCR’s decision to skip receiving and seeing off Modi became a hot topic of discussion, especially after the Telangana CM’s fiery attack on Modi and the union government’s recently introduced union budget for 2022-23. KCR blasted the Modi-led BJP government for damaging the country by dividing people in the name of religion. The TRS supremo had called for uprooting the BJP from power and “throwing it into the Bay of Bengal” for the welfare of the country.
Now, pulling off a major surprise in the last minute, KCR has changed the plan and decided to personally receive PM Modi upon his arrival at RGI Airport, Shamshabad. KCR will reportedly accompany Modi to ICRISAT in Patancheru to take part in the reputed institution’s golden jubilee celebrations. This will be followed by the unveiling of the ‘Statue of Equality’ commemorating the 11th century Bhakti Saint Ramanujacharya at Chinna Jeeyar Trust at Muchintal.
It will be after 6 long years that KCR and Modi will be sharing stage this evening. The last time KCR and Modi had shared stage was during the Mission Bhageeratha inaugural ceremony in Gajwel in 2016. Even though Modi had visited Bharat Biotech’s Hyderabad plant in November, 2020, the PMO had urged the Telangana CMO to be not present during the PM’s visit, in view of the raging COVID-19 pandemic.
