On Wednesday AP CM YS Jagan visited Sarada Peetham in Vizag but this tour raked up a controversy. Apparently Jagan offered special pujas to goddess Raja Syamala Devi, performed Raja Syamala Yagam and Shodashopachara puja. He also visited Lord Subrahmaneswara Swamy, Dasanjaneya Swamy, Tandava Murthy temples in the Peetham.
For nearly three hours Jagan stayed in Sarada Peetham and all the businesses excluding wines at Chinnamushidiwada were closed. Upon CM Jagan’s return, the police imposed restrictions from the Peetham to the airport as part of protocols.
These traffic restrictions in view of the CM’s visit troubled the common man. Many people who were supposed to catch a flight were stuck in traffic for hours and unsure when the police would ease the restrictions, many got down from their vehicles and went on foot till the airport. Visuals of people carrying their luggage to the airport went viral on social media and especially of a woman who shouted at the traffic cops for blocking the traffic.
This incident reached Jagan’s notice and he expressed anger on traffic department for imposing restrictions. CM Jagan immediately called on the AP DGP and directed him to take necessary steps to avoid such inconvenience to the general public during his visits.
Protocols often bring uninvited troubles and multiple times such incidents get repeated. But it’s the responsibility of the traffic department to come up with better alternative plans to make things easy for common man and VVIPs like CM.
