AP Capital ‘Amaravati’ Missing In School Text Books

After forming the government the YCP has thrown the capital city into a big confusion. By initiating ‘Three Capitals’ and withdrawing the same bill there is a lot of uncertainty in Andhra’s capital city. In a latest incident, the YCP government has excluded the chapter of Amaravati from school text books.

For the 200-21, the State Board of Educational Research and Training designed the syllabus. In standard four, the chapter ‘Mana Prapancham’ had an India map and shockingly AP’s capital city was missing in it. Every state was mentioned in the map with their capital city but we see only ‘Andhra Pradesh’ name in the map while the capital is nowhere mentioned. Even the likes of Union Territories like Yanam were mentioned but Amaravati could not find a place.

This picture of the map surfaced on social media and netizens were stunned with Amaravati unable to get a slot. Not just the netizens, even the school teachers and intellectuals were taken away by this incident and are fuming over this.

“When the state government lacks clarity on the capital city, what can we teach the students? There is a capital for every state in the map and if students ask the capital of AP, we have no answers to reply to them,” said teachers while intellectuals were thoroughly disappointed that there is a state in India without a capital.

Is this yet another deliberate attempt by the YCP government to erase the thought of Amaravati from people’s minds? From the beginning Jagan and Co are against the capital region and they are working accordingly. There were several reports that a fresh ‘Three Capitals’ bill is likely to be introduced in the upcoming budget sessions.
