Just when people of AP anticipated good news on ‘Special Category Status’ (SCS), the three membered high level committee of the Union Home ministry excluded the same issue in its five point agenda. The YCP ministers and leaders are blaming TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu for the exclusion of SCS from the high level committee’s agenda.
“It was Chandrababu who rejected ‘Special Status’ and accepted ‘Special Package.’ TDP has no moral right to demand Special Status and we have no clue why the high level committee removed the main point from its agenda. I guess the committee bowed down to pressure from Chandrababu. TDP chief doesn’t want ‘Special Status’ to be granted when YCP is in government and so he utilised his contacts and conspired against Special Status. People of AP are watching all the developments,” said YCP minister Peddireddy.
Reacting to YCP ministers’ criticism, BJP MP GVL said that’s illogical. “We have nothing to do with Chandrababu. If he pressures us, are we in a position to listen to him?” questioned GVL. The BJP leader further added that if PM Modi and Home minister Amit Shah decide upon things and matters, none from BJP can alert it.
Irrespective of these political comments, ‘Special Status’ is something AP rightfully deserves and the BJP government in Delhi should seriously consider this for AP.
