Third Front: No Word Of Babu & Jagan!

Published by

With just two years away from the next general elections, the attempts for the Third Front, alternative to BJP and Congress, are under big progress. But shockingly there is no mention of Andhra Pradesh in the so-called ‘Third Front.’

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, and Telangana CM KCR are in touch with Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin and Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik for the ‘Third Front.’ Simultaneously attempts are being made to get Delhi CM and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal to get on board for ‘Third Front.’ Apparently Mamata and Kejriwal have already held talks a couple of times and so Kejriwal might well join the bandwagon of ‘Third Front.’

At the same time the leftover regional parties are showing interest in joining hands with the yet to be formed front but many are categorically looking at alternatives of BJP and Congress. But no one is looking at Andhra Pradesh. So far neither Mamata nor KCR have come in contact with AP CM YS Jagan or the main opposition leader, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu.

Chandrababu is maintaining equal distance with all the parties for now and moreover his association with Telangana CM KCR may not look good for ‘Third Front.’ Coming to the case of AP CM YS Jagan, with CBI cases against him, there is a general opinion among the ‘Third Front’ leaders that he may stay neutral for obvious reasons. In the last eight years, Jagan hasn’t uttered a word against BJP or PM Modi despite not granting the ‘Special Status.’

On the whole Jagan and Chandrababu may not make it to any fronts and this means it would be a huge loss of representation for the concerns related to Andhra Pradesh.
