Started off in Karnataka, the Hijab row rocked the entire nation. Now this religious dispute has touched Andhra Pradesh. In Vijayawada’s Loyola college, Muslim students wearing Hijab were stopped from entering the college by the institute’s security.
This act of the college management shocked and surprised them. A video of this incident surfaced on social media and the students claim that they are studying B.Sc final year and never experienced such a scenario before. “I have been wearing Hijab since the first year and even my ID card has a photo with Hijab. The college management did not object all these years and I was really taken away by today’s restrictions,” said a student.
Later the college management called on the parents of the students, religious heads and held talks. Learning about this incident, the police stepped into the scene to make sure things did not slip out of hands.
After talking with parents and religious heads and police, the Loyola College management allowed the students to wear Hijab and ended the controversy.
But why did the college management initially denied entry to students wearing Hijab? Is this any conspiracy to create unrest in the state?
