In a viral video the panel of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) especially the chairman YV Subba Reddy was caught on the camera to hike the prices of several services being offered by the TTD to devotees.
In the video, Subba Reddy can be seen asking the concern official to hike the Rs 800 fare of Suprabat service to Rs 2000. “Increase everything in discretionary quota. If are discussing everything and will go one by one. I’m proposing certain things and if you (panel members) have anything to say, pitch it up,” says Subba Reddy.
Then shockingly the TTD chairman says on record that “Whoever goes on recommendation, they should be taxed heavily. If they have the capacity, then only they will come.” In the end of the video Subba Reddy proposes for hike of Archana and Thomala services to Rs 5000.
This video has gone viral and huge criticism is pouring on the TTD chairman and panel for commercialising God. But the only respite in this entire video is that many members and concerned officials advised not to change the Rs 300 ticket fare of service which would severely affect the common man.
The TTD is yet to respond on this viral video while the YCP government must also come out of this and issue a clarification.
