‘Ninna Gelicham UP.. Repu Gelustham AP’

BJP MP G.V.L. Narasimha Rao said that their party would move ahead with the Jana Sena in the next elections and dethrone the YCP for its anti-people policies. The party cadre raised a catchy slogan “Ninna Gelicham UP-Repu Gelustham AP”.

This Holi is very special to the BJP as the party had won in four states and emboldened its presence in three directions of the country. Now, we are focusing on the southern states and have to make our presence felt, especially in the four states, the MP said.

The MP said that the BJP has to win both the Telugu states, Kerala and Tamil Nadu too. “We are confident that the BJP would win in the Telugu states and specially in Andhra Pradesh as we are focusing on it.”

“The BJP would move ahead with the commitment to pitch the party flag in AP and as part of it, the party would organize a praja sadassu “Rayalaseema Ranabheri” on Saturday.

Rayalaseema Ranabheri today

The party cadre is creating awareness about the anti-people policies of the YCP among the masses, under the leadership of BJP state president Somu Veerraju, he said, adding that they would create a good impression about Prime Minister Narendra Modi in people’s heart.

When asked about the action plan of the party to get connected with the people at the grassroots-level, the MP agreed that people in AP believed that Modi had not helped their state prosper and develop in the past but now, they have a belief that Modi alone can help the state to improve. “The YCP government is not only working against people’s wish but also relegating the state to abysmal levels. The people themselves have come to know of this fact and as an alternative to the YCP, the BJP-Jana Sena would work in tandem. We have information that people are looking towards the alliance with a hope, the MP said.

Replying to a question on the route map they would adopt for achieving the goal, GVL said that Union minister and BJP senior leader Amit Shah had given directions to the party cadre on how to reach the public at the grassroots-level. “We are working in the same direction and trying to strengthen ourselves.”

Not as easy as raising slogans

However, senior political leaders in the state feel that BJP coming to power is not as easy as giving slogans. The YCP and TDP have strong presence in the state and given the caste affiliations to the political parties in Andhra Pradesh, they opine it is a tough task for the BJP to gain ground in Andhra Pradesh.

Political analysts said that people in Andhra Pradesh never voted for the BJP and that they are used to vote only for the regional parties which have strong roots in the state. Moreover, they are not happy with the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre for not according special category status to the state, they pointed out.

In this backdrop, it is not a cakewalk for the BJP, at least in Andhra Pradesh, they added.
