Film personalities and celebrities have die-hard fans admirers but seldom do politicians have such following. Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is one such political leader who has staunch loyalists and ardent admirers even when he is not a veteran in his field.
It is not just admiration that Jagan could secure, he has won the hearts of both the people and his cadre. Going much beyond admiration, Deputy Chief Minister Dharmana Krishna Das has expressed confidence in Jagan by putting even his entire property at stake.
He vowed to donate all his assets if Jagan would not become the CM for the next term too. Krishna Das, who is known to be a sincere follower of Jagan, made this shocking challenge while inaugurating the village secretariat of Polaki-Chellai valasa in Srikakulam district.
As per the schedule, general elections are two years away. However, there is talk that elections could be held anytime from now owing to the political developments in the state. The opposition leaders have been invigorating their cadres by frequently directing the activists to be ready for the elections any time from now.
This has heated the political atmosphere in the state two years in advance. In such a situation, Krishna Das’ remarks have gained significance. He threw down the gauntlet at the opposition parties and said that if Jagan does not win the polls, he would distribute all of his properties. He even said that there had never been such a CM in the past and would never be so great a CM in the future.
It is clear that even the public had not seen such a special admirer of Jagan so far. They have seen his ministers praising him as “veerudu-dheerudu”, “maata tappadu-madama tippadu”, which meant that they confined to words alone, but Krishna Das displayed a different type of sycophancy to the world.
