Ever since the Telangana government was caught doing less number of Covid-19 tests and reporting low cases, many had doubts. After High Court’s intervention and opposition criticism, TRS sarkar hiked the testing capacity and also started updating about the details of samples collected and beds availability details.
Yet the Telangana government is reporting less number of new Covid-19 cases. This again got exposed with last night’s bulletin released by the government. From Social media reports states that In the state’s bulletin, it was mentioned that Khammam and Nalgonda districts reported just 5 and 26 cases respectively.
Whereas the District Medical and Health Office (DMHO) Bulletin released by Khammam and Nalgonda authorities reveal that the cases are much higher. DMHO of Khammam reported 37 cases from the district while Nalgonda authorities claimed 69 new cases on Sunday. We should wait for clarification from officials on these Discrepancies in Corona cases count.
From WHO to many medical experts have been saying from the beginning that under reporting of new cases will lead to more chaos and spread of virus. Already IMA has claimed that community transmission has begun in India but many states are not in the mood to accept the situation.
Telangana has been under the radar in these claims and it continues to remain so rather than to act and do test.. trace and treat !
