In a welcome move, former minister and TDP’s general secretary Nara Lokesh has offered Health Insurance to journalists in his Assembly constituency. Lokesh has provided health insurance to about 62 journalists of print and TV media from Mangalagiri, Tadepalli, Duggirala areas.
The insurance provides 10 lakhs to beneficiaries family in case of any risk if happened naturally. The accidental risk covers 20 lakh insurance. The insurance also covers Covid deaths. Lokesh said he has done his bit to journalists who are working hard in these critical times by risking their lives. He asked journalists to take enough precautionary measures such as wearing masks, maintaining physical distance and sanitize hands regularly.
Meanwhile, Lokesh has demanded AP government to include journalists into Covid warriors list and asked the government to provide Corona insurance cover to all the working journalists. Nara Lokesh has asked the Jagan-led state government to distribute PPE kits to the journalists as safety measure.
He demanded the government to announce Rs 50 lakh ex-gratia to the journalists died of Corona. He further asked the government to immediately clear the working journalists health scheme, working journalists accident insurance scheme and provide security to the journalists.
Lokesh alleged that AP government has failed in controlling and handling Corona Virus. He demanded government to take enough measures in controlling Corona as the cases are spiking with each passing day.
